  A: Hood Cable replacement requires opening the hood then removing the Hood Latch. The Hood Latch should disconnect its hood release cable before you tie a string around the cable for easier passage through the engine cabin. Open the wheelhouse liner while removing the clips which secure the hood release cable and detach the fasteners holding the handle to the vehicle structure. Tie a second length of string to the hood release cable before removing it from the handle to make future reinstallation through the driver area possible. Extract the wheel opening grommet of the hood release cable next remove the cable components from the vehicle. Place the string on either end of the new hood release cable before directing it through the passenger compartment and finally removing the string. Seat the grommet into the wheel opening before connecting the cable to the hood release handle that you secure with fasteners.
