  Start the Hood Cable replacement process by opening the hood then unfastening the Hood Latch. The hood release cable needs to be detached from its Hood Latch connection before you attach a string section that can help guide its placement through the engine space. Start by eliminating the front wheelhouse liner then expose the hood release cable retaining clips before you unfasten the hood release handle mounting points to the vehicle structure. Make another string section to secure the hood release cable to the hood release handle before you put it through the passenger side of the vehicle. Pull the wheel opening hood grommet away from its position while extracting the hood release cable from the whole vehicle. Install the new hood release cable by running the string connecting its ends through the passenger compartment before removing the string. Place the hood release cable grommet into the wheel opening and secure the hood release cable with the hood release handle. After connecting the hood release handle with fasteners to the vehicle you can pull the string and hood release cable through the engine compartment before removing the string. After placing the hood release cable into its clips you must shut the clips before reinstalling the front wheelhouse liner and Hood Latch. Finally, close the hood.
