How to replace the cellular communications/digital radio antenna on 2008 Cadillac STS?

The initial step for cellular communications/digital radio Antenna replacement consists of carefully removing rear sail panels to prevent damage. Lower the rear portions of the headliner but avoid creating excessive bending. Pull out the foam tape connecting the Antenna cable after which disconnect the Antenna connectors. The next installation step involves unscrewing both the Antenna bolt and expansion sleeve followed by Antenna removal. First detach the screws between the Antenna mast and Antenna Base before extracting the Antenna mast. To begin the installation process install the Antenna on the roof while directing the wiring pigtail through the slot on the Antenna shaft lengthwise. Screw the expansion sleeve to the Antenna shaft, secure it by torquing the bolt to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Refer connector ends to one another while taping them with foam tape. Place the Antenna cable above the am/fm Antenna module then use hold down clips to keep the cable in position. The headliner needs to be exactly aligned to the roof panel before reinstalling the rear sail panels. Secure the mast to the Antenna Base by tightening screws to 1 n.m (9 lb in torque).
