A technician can replace the power steering pump belt through usage of the J 23600-B (Belt Tension Gage) to measure the drive belt tension on the pump. Users must adjust the belt through alternator bolt loosening then move the alternator until the gage shows proper tension. When the correct tension is reached you should torque the alternator adjusting bolt to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
