Q: How to replace the intake manifold on 2008 Chevrolet Aveo?
A: To remove the Intake Manifold, and to remove fuel pump Fuse and start the engine until it stalls, then crank for 10 seconds to relieve fuel pressure. Remove the negative Battery Cable, drain the engine coolant, disconnect the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor connector, air intake tube from the Throttle Body, idle air control (IAC) valve connector, throttle position sensor (TPS) connector, engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor connector, and heater inlet hose from the cylinder head. Also, close off the surge tank coolant hose at Throttle Body and the required vacuum hoses at Fuel Pressure Regulator and Brake Booster. I suggest removing Throttle Body cable, fuel injector rail, injectors, alternator adjusting bolt, alternator Drive Belt, alternator adjusting bracket bolt and Intake Manifold support bracket bolts, and actual Intake Manifold itself with its gasket. Clean sealing surfaces of the Intake Manifold and the cylinder head and, remove the alternator. For installation, install the new Intake Manifold Gasket, install the Intake Manifold, tightening it with retaining nuts/bolts tightened to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Retighten the Intake Manifold support bracket that connects with the upper bolts (25 N.m/ 18 lb ft) and lower bolt (40 N.m / 30 lb ft) to its place. Reinstall the Fuel Rail and injectors, the throttle cable, vaccum lines, heater inlet hose, surge tank coolant hose, alternator adjusting bracket, and alternator adjusting bolt, torquing the latter to 15 n.m (11 lb ft). Reconnect the ect sensor, the iac valve, the tps, the air intake tube, and the iat sensor connectors before you attach the powertrain control module (PCM)/ engine control module (ECM) ground terminal to the Intake Manifold. Lastly, replace the fuel pump Fuse, reconnect the negative Battery Cable, and fill the engine cooling system as well.
