2008 Chevrolet Aveo Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor 1 (HO2S1) on 2008 Chevrolet Aveo?
A: To replace the heated Oxygen Sensor 1 (HO2S1), one has to first disconnect the negative Battery Cable and ensure safety precautions are maintained. Next, remove the front ho2s1 connector and pull out the sensor from the Exhaust Manifold when the engine is at a temperature higher than 48°c (120°F) to make it easier for the removal process. For installation, the ho2s1 may need to be lubricated, using anti-seize compound to the thread of the ho2s1 if required as this compound can be liquid graphite and glass beads and is helpful in future removals. By using the ho2s1, screw it to the Exhaust Manifold, and tighten this to the screwing torque of 42 n.m. (31 lb ft). Finally, reconnect the ho2s1 connector and the negative cable of the battery.
