2009 Chevrolet Aveo Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S1) with Variable Camshaft Phasing on 2009 Chevrolet Aveo?
A: To replace the heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S1) with the variable camshaft phasing, disconnect first the battery negative cable. Then detach the connector ho2s1 and use en-46577 (Oxygen Sensor Remover/Installer) to remove the ho2s1 . When installing the new sensor, it is necessary to cover the threads of the ho2s1 with an anti-seize compound if needed, since this compound contains liquid graphite and glass beads that promote future removal. Ensure the ho2s1 sensor heat shield is installed in such a way that the slot directs away from the Exhaust Manifold. Mount the ho2s1 in the Exhaust Manifold and tighten it to 40 nm (29.5 lb ft) . Finally reconnect the black battery negative terminal (cable).
