Begin the replacement of heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S1) by disconnecting the battery negative cable. The en-46577 (Oxygen Sensor Remover/Installer) tool enables the removal of ho2s1 after connector detachment. For future sensor removal you should apply anti-seize compound to the ho2s1 threads before installation because the compound made of liquid graphite and glass beads will make extraction simpler. Heat shield of the ho2s1 sensor should be installed with its slot directed toward the opposite side from the Exhaust Manifold. Place the ho2s1 into the Exhaust Manifold before securing it with a torque of 40 nm (29.5 lb ft). Conclude the replacement procedure by connecting the battery negative cable.
