The first service step for engine Coolant Temperature Sensor repairs requires drain and pressure relief of the coolant system through negative Battery Cable disconnection followed by coolant drainage below ect sensor level. The procedure requires ect sensor connector disconnection with proper care for the coolant sensor to prevent fuel control system harm. After removing the ect sensor you should install the new ect sensor and tighten it to 20 nm (15 lb ft). Make the ect sensor connector connection then refill the cooling system before reconnecting the negative Battery Cable.
