How to replace the Engine Control Module (ECM) with Variable Camshaft Phasing on 2009 Chevrolet Aveo?

The replacement process of variable camshaft phasing begins with disconnecting the battery negative cable. The first step is to unlock the ecm connector locking lever followed by removal of the ecm retaining nuts before pulling out the ecm. Place the ecm into its position before you install the two retaining nuts which need to be tightened to 8 nm torque. First reinstall the battery negative cable then secure the locking lever of the ecm connector.
