2008 Chevrolet Colorado Brake Booster Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the power vacuum brake booster on 2008 Chevrolet Colorado?
A: Start by taking out the master cylinder system from its position. Pull down the knee bolster trim to access the Brake Booster Pushrod. Disconnect its retaining clip then both clevis pin and Pushrod from the Brake Pedal. Take off the booster mounting nuts and extract the booster from the vehicle. Position the Brake Booster inside the bulkhead and fasten it using mounting nuts before tightening them to 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Push the Brake Pedal Pushrod back into place and slide on its clevis pin. Secure both with the retaining clip. Adjust both switches after reinstalling the stop lamp switch and cruise control release switch. Complete the installation by placing back the knee bolster trim panel and the master cylinder assembly.
