2008 Chevrolet Express 2500 Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Accumulator in a system on 2008 Chevrolet Express 2500?
A: The first step to replace the accumulator consists of draining refrigerant from the a/c system followed by removing the Coolant Reservoir. The first step is to disconnect the electrical connector from the a/c low pressure sensor followed by the removal of the outlet pipe retaining nut from the accumulator. You should start by taking out the compressor suction hose retaining nut and compressor suction hose from the accumulator. First remove the retaining screw from the accumulator retaining bracket to take out the accumulator along with its sealing washers. The correct amount of pag oil should be directly poured into a new accumulator before you install it. Fasten the screw to the accumulator retaining bracket before tightening it to 9 n.m (80 lb in). The low pressure sensor electrical connector must be reconnected while new sealing washers get installed before the evaporator outlet pipe installation. To complete the procedure install the evaporator outlet pipe retaining nut into the accumulator while tightening it to 16 n.m (12 lb ft) before adding the compressor suction hose and tightening its retaining nut to 16 n.m (12 lb ft). When complete restore the Coolant Reservoir along with evacuating and recharging the system before performing a fitting leak test utilizing the j 39400-a halogen leak detector.
