2008 Chevrolet Express 3500 Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Accumulator on 2008 Chevrolet Express 3500?
A: Removing the A/C Accumulator requires the recovery of A/C system refrigerant as the first step. The front evaporator tube requires removal while maintaining both nuts and ferrules connected to the condenser tube. Begin by taking away the nuts from the A/C accumulator which are attached to the condenser tube. After that, detach the accumulator from its position on the condenser tube. The process starts with O-ring installation then continues by installing the A/C accumulator onto the condenser tube with flow arrow orientation toward the evaporator. Screw the nuts into the A/C accumulator before tightening them to 34 N.m (25 lb ft). Reinstate the front evaporator tube before performing an A/C system vacuum and recharge process. The fittings of the installed component need to undergo leak testing with Halogen Leak Detector (J 39400-A).
