How to Replace A/C Compressor Cut-Out Switches on 2008 Chevrolet Express 3500?

The replacement of the a/c high pressure switch requires the recovery of all refrigerant from the a/c system first. Before removing the snap ring users must clean the surrounding area of the a/c high pressure switch. The electrical connector for the a/c high pressure switch needs removal before using j 5403 snap ring pliers (J 5403) to remove the snap ring. The a/c high pressure switch must be removed from the compressor while using j 9553-01 o-ring remover (J 9553-01) to extract the aged o-ring seal from the switch cavity. Check the switch cavity and o-ring groove for materials that do not belong then perform cleaning procedures when necessary. New 525 viscosity refrigerant oil must be used to lubricate the o-ring before installing the ring into its groove position on the switch cavity. Apply the same oil to both the control switch housing and install the switch into the cavity until it reaches its bottom position. Install the snap ring by using j 5403 snap ring pliers (J 5403) while positioning the curved edges high against the switch housing and verifying complete groove insertion. Complete the process by evacuating and recharging the air conditioning system while performing a leak test on fittings through use of the j 39400-a halogen leak detector (J 39400-A).
