How to replace the ABS Control Module equipped with the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) on 2008 Chevrolet Express 3500?

The first step to replace the ABS Control Module (ABS CM) part number in vehicles having brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) part number requires disconnecting the negative Battery Cable. The mechanic should lift and stabilize the vehicle while cleaning away all loose soil from near the electric hydraulic control unit (EHCU) because this prevents abs part contamination; then wash ehcu surroundings until clean. In cutaway vehicles it is necessary to take away the splash shield. Remove the abs cm from its mount on the bpmv after disconnecting all abs cm electrical connectors. Gently extract the abs cm out from the bpmv while applying slight force and wipe both mounting surfaces of the bpmv to abs cm with a clean fabric. Installing a new abs cm requires total avoidance of using room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) or any other kind of sealant when working with the abs cm gasket and mating surfaces.
