Control Module

The first step to replace the ABS Control Module (EBCM) without jl4 requires disconnecting the negative Battery Cable. Place the vehicle on supports to expose the electric hydraulic control unit while cleaning away all loose dirt from its surrounding area until the unpacking of abs components is finished. The procedure demands that you first take off the splash shield from vehicles with a cutaway configuration. Remove the ABS Control Module by disconnecting the electric connectors first then unfasten screws which attach the ABS Control Module to the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV). Use a gently force to extract the ABS Control Module from the bpmv while cleaning both mounting surfaces of the bpmv to ABS Control Module assembly with a clean cloth. When installing the ABS Control Module onto the bpmv avoid using rtv or any other types of sealants on both surfaces of the gasket and contacts. Attach the screws to the ABS Control Module while tightening them to 5 n.m (44 lb in) with the pattern set in an x-shape. The installation process requires connecting electrical connectors to ABS Control Module while cutaway vehicles need their splash shield replaced with tight bolt torque of 25 n.m (18 lb ft). After lowering the vehicle complete connection of the negative Battery Cable. You must use the tire size calibration function to calibrate tires before checking that the system operates correctly. The replacement process of the ABS Control Module starts by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable. Support the vehicle while raising it then detach both brake modulator shield mounting nuts as well as the bolt if present. The process of cleaning should start by wiping away all dirt and debris from around the ABS Control Module and brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) before unconnecting the ABS Control Module electrical connector. After removing the ABS Control Module bolts you should thoroughly remove the ABS Control Module from its position on the bpmv. The bpmv sealing surface needs denatured alcohol cleaning together with a new shop cloth. I will place the fresh ABS Control Module onto the bpmv without using excessive force on its components. Use new ABS Control Module bolts to attach the component and implement a cross-pattern installation torquing it to 3 nm (27 lb in). The process includes attaching the ABS Control Module electrical connector followed by brake modulator shield installation with mounting nuts fixed at 25 nm (18 lb ft) and finally securing the brake modulator shield mounting bolt to 25 nm (18 lb ft). Place the EBCM onto the BPMV without using RTV or any sealant, and install new EBCM bolts, tightening them to 5 N.m (44 lb in) in an X-pattern.

Disconnect the electrical connectors from the EBCM and remove the mounting screws fastening the EBCM to the BPMV.
