Start the replacement of the Exhaust Heat Shield by removing the Catalytic Converter when using le5/l61 or lnf engines. The insulators become easier to remove by applying a non-petroleum-based lubricating material before extracting them from the resonator pipe and the Muffler. A proper jack stand must be used to lower the resonator pipe and the Muffler so they are accessible. You should drill out and remove the heat shield nut and the four heat shield rivets prior to detaching the heat shield. You should mount the new heat shield under the vehicle before installing the heat shield nut and tightening it to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Position four brand-new heat shield rivets while applying a non-petroleum-based lubricant spray on the insulators to help the installation process. Position the resonator pipe and Muffler onto the insulators before attaching them and install the required Catalytic Converter (LE5/L61 or LNF).
