• Q: How to replace the throttle body assembly on 2008 Chevrolet Impala?

  A: To replace the Throttle Body assembly first handle the electronic throttle control components with care so that they are not damaged and no submergence in cleaning solvents. Start with removing an intake manifold cover and draining the engine cooling system. Then, pull out the air cleaner outlet duct and break away the electronic throttle control (ETC) electrical connector. Unclamp the heater inlet and outlet pipe nuts from the Throttle Body studs, then reposition the heater inlet and outlet hose clamps and hoses. Thereafter, pull off the Throttle Body bolts/studs and pull out the Throttle Body discarding the old Throttle Body Gasket. When installing them, replace used Throttle Body Gasket and align locating tab with manifold notch, install the Throttle Body on intake manifold. Replace the Throttle Body bolts and tighten them to the value of 10 n.m [89 lb in]. Reposition the heater inlet and outlet hoses and clamps and install the heater inlet and outlet pipe clip nuts and tweak to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Make sure the throttle actuator motor harness connector and seal are properly mounted and not damaged before attaching the etc electrical connector and reinstalling the air cleaner outlet duct. Top up the engine cooling system and refill the intake manifold. Finally, attach the scan tool to the throttle exam the ranges and the throttle open close range. Operate the accelerator pedal to establish that it moves easily in and out of close throttle and wide open throttle (WOT), and make sure that the vehicle is not in reduced engine power mode with ignition on and engine off.
