2007 Chevrolet Impala Throttle Body Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the throttle body assembly while handling the electronic throttle control components with care on 2007 Chevrolet Impala?
A: When installing new throttle bodies handle the electronic throttle components carefully since using tools to maintain throttle plate position can damage internal parts. You must start with intake manifold cover extraction followed by draining engine cooling fluid. After disconnecting the etc electrical connector you should remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Detach the heater inlet and outlet pipe clip nuts which secure the Throttle Body studs before readjusting the heater inlet and outlet hose clamps and hoses. Remove Throttle Body bolts/studs then carefully take out the Throttle Body and discard the old Throttle Body Gasket. As you install the Throttle Body place a new gasket underneath and make sure both components fit together properly between the locating tab and manifold notch. Finally place the Throttle Body over the intake manifold. Secure the Throttle Body bolts at 10 n.m (89 lb in) torque. Install and tighten the heater inlet and outlet pipe clip nuts to 10 n.m (89 lb in) torque. Place the heater inlet and outlet hoses and clamps in their correct position before installation. Check that the throttle actuator motor harness connector and its seal are present and not broken before both connecting the etc electrical connector and returning the air cleaner outlet duct. First fill your car's cooling system and install its intake manifold cover. A scan tool diagnosis should follow to check throttle opening and closing ranges while confirming free pedal movement between closed throttle and wide open throttle positions (WOT) and that reduced power mode is inactive when ignition is on and engine is off.
