    Q:
How to replace the throttle body assembly while handling the electronic throttle control components with care on Buick Terraza? Posted by Customer
    A:
Replace the Throttle Body assembly while handling its electronic components carefully because contact with cleaning solvents will damage them and do not use tools to hold the throttle plate open. Start by removing the intake manifold cover followed by draining the engine cooling system then removing the air cleaner outlet duct. First disconnect the engine harness electrical connector from the electronic throttle control's (ETC) components then remove both heater inlet and outlet pipe clip nuts from their positions on the Throttle Body studs. Work through the following steps: step 1: move the heater inlet and outlet hose clamps and hoses (2, 3) into proper position. Step 2: remove the Throttle Body bolts/nuts and discard the old Throttle Body Gasket. Installation must use a fresh Throttle Body Gasket before carefully aligning its locating tab with the notch at the manifold as you position the Throttle Body against the intake manifold. After tightening Throttle Body bolts/nuts to 10 n.m (89 lb in), replace the heater inlet and outlet hoses (2, 3) and clamp them. Mount the heater inlet and outlet pipe clip nuts to Throttle Body studs but apply torque of 10 n.m (89 lb in). Pressing the throttle actuator motor harness connector and seal into place is crucial to ensure they remain undamaged during engine harness electrical connector reconnection to the etc. The replacement process includes installing the air cleaner outlet duct followed by filling the engine cooling system then putting the intake manifold cover back on. A scan tool functionality inspection should be conducted to assess proper throttle operations through testing throttle ranges and accelerator pedal movement for free operation from closed throttle to wide open throttle (WOT). This process should occur when the vehicle is not engaging reduced power modes, ignition is turned on and engine is set to off.

    Q:
How to replace the throttle body assembly on Chevrolet Equinox? Posted by Customer
    A:
Starting the replacement process requires removal of both the air cleaner intake duct and heater outlet pipe. A shop towel should cover the Throttle Body opening so you can use shop air to blow away dirt accumulated at the bottom of the Throttle Body. Use a finger to pull up on the tac module electrical connector lock until it disconnects from the tac module. First unwrap the Throttle Body from the Intake Manifold by removing all Throttle Body bolts then pull it out. Keep the Intake Manifold opening sealed with a clean shop towel to block dirt accumulation during the procedure. Replace the Throttle Body studs only if replacement is needed. When reinstalling the Throttle Body studs after removal follow these steps: tighten each stud to 6 n.m (53 lb in) torque. Insert the Throttle Body onto the Intake Manifold before tightening it down with Throttle Body bolts at 10 n.m (89 lb in). Use a finger to push down the connector lock which secures the tac module electrical connector to the tac module. To finalize the replacement install the heater outlet pipe followed by the air cleaner intake duct.

    Q:
How to replace the throttle body assembly on Chevrolet Malibu? Posted by Customer
    A:
The air cleaner resonator needs removal as technicians disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the electronic throttle control (ETC). You should first disconnect the Throttle Body bolts and pull the Throttle Body from its position on the Intake Manifold check the Throttle Body Gasket during inspection before making an installation. Instal the Throttle Body on the Intake Manifold by putting bolts with a 10 n.m torque setting (89 lb in). Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the etc then reinstall the air cleaner resonator. Gasket surfaces should never receive solvent treatments particularly solutions containing methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) because this chemical damages both fuel system components and gasket surfaces.

    Q:
How to replace the throttle body assembly on Chevrolet Uplander? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the Throttle Body assembly, begin by being very careful with the electronic throttle control parts so that they would not be damaged, do not use any thing to try and keep the throttle plate open. To start with, remove the cover of intake manifold, then drain engine cooling system. Next loosening the air cleaner outlet duct then disconnect engine harness electrical connector from the electronic throttle control (ETC). Unscrew the heater inlet and outlet pipe clip nuts from the Throttle Body studs, move them to the heater inlet and outlet hose clamps and move the heater inlet and outlet hose/pipe to its new spot (2, 3). Remove Throttle Body bolts/nuts and take off Throttle Body throwing away the old Throttle Body Gasket. For installation, install a new Throttle Body Gasket with its locating tab aligned to the manifold notch and install Throttle Body to the intake manifold. Change the Throttle Body bolts/nuts and tighten them to 10 n.m (89 lb in), and reposition the hose/pipe (2, 3) and clamps for the heater inlet and outlet. Mount the heater inlet and outlet pipe clip nuts to the Throttle Body studs, also tightening them to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Make sure throttle actuator motor harness connector & seal are in proper position without any damages before re-connecting the engine harness electrical connector to the etc. Reinstall the air cleaner outlet duct, fill the engine cooling system and reinstall the intake manifold cover. Lastly, attach a scan tool to check on proper throttle opening and closed ranges, and manipulate the accelerator pedal to confirm it moves freely from closed throttle to wide open throttle (WOT), check that the vehicle fails to operate in reduced engine power operation when ignition on but the engine off.
