  • Q: How to replace the throttle body assembly on 2010 Chevrolet Impala?
    A: In order to replace the Throttle Body assembly, orientate the electronic throttle control as gently as possible in an attempt to avoid spoilage, very little of the usage of any sort of tool to keep open the pace throttle. Start with removal of the intake manifold cover and the air cleaner outlet duct. Remove the electronic throttle control (ETC) electrical connector, and then remove the heater inlet and outlet pipe clip nuts from the Throttle Body studs. Take out the heater inlet and outlet hose clamps and hoses and reroute them thereafter removing Throttle Body bolts/studs and Throttle Body itself. Remove and discard the old Throttle Body Gasket, and install a new one, making sure that locating tab is aligned with notch manifold. Mount the Throttle Body on the intake manifold and apply the Throttle Body bolts (tighten to 10 Nm [89 lb in]). Reposition the heater inlet/on clamp and outlet hoses and clamp and install heater inlet /outlet pipe clip nuts and tighten them to 10 nm (89 lb in). Restrict the throttle actuator motor harness connector and seal in alignment and not damaged prior to reconnecting the etc electrical connector. Reinstall the air cleaner outlet duct and income manifold cover. Lastly, use a scan tool to test for proper throttle opening and closing range, use the accelerator pedal and confirm that it moves freely between closed throttle and wide open throttle (WOT) and confirm that the engine should not be in reduced engine power mode with ignition on and engine off.
