How to replace the water pump on LZE, LZ4, or LZG engines (3.5L, 3.9L) on 2008 Chevrolet Impala?

Begin the Water Pump replacement procedure on lze lz4 or lzg engines by draining their cooling system. Break the bolts holding the Water Pump Pulley then remove the Drive Belt. Untighten the Water Pump Pulley bolts and pulley first then proceed to remove the Water Pump bolts. Remove the Water Pump along with its gasket and clean the engine area it connected to. Place a fresh Water Pump gasket under the Water Pump before positioning it on the engine front cover. Use a torque wrench to fix the Water Pump bolts at 10 n.m (89 lb in). Place the Water Pump Pulley and bolts then put on the Drive Belt. The Water Pump Pulley bolts must be tightened to 25 newton meters (18 pound feet). Add fluid to the cooling system system and look for leakages after filling.
