How to replace the water pump on LZE, LZ4, or LZG engines (3.5L, 3.9L) on 2008 Chevrolet Impala?

When using LZ4, LZG, or LZE engines, the cooling system must first be drained before replacing the water pump. Take off the drive belt then the water pump pulley and bolts. Complete removal of water pump and gasket, wipe the surfaces, and then replace gasket and water pump. Refit and seal the cooling system, which should be leak-check.
