The j 34028 inner Tie Rod wrench (J 34028) should maintain grip on the steering linkage inner Tie Rod housing during the pipe wrench adjustment of the power steering gear rack to avoid movement. A counterclockwise rotation of the steering linkage inner Tie Rod housing will separate it from the power steering gear rack. The threads on both the steering linkage inner Tie Rod and power steering gear rack need to have old loctite(R) removed before proceeding. All cleaning activities should conclude before the application of threads with loctite(R) 262 or equivalent on designated threads so that assembly can proceed with the steering linkage inner Tie Rod joining the power steering gear rack. Utilize the torque wrench to fasten the steering linkage inner Tie Rod housing to 100 n.m (74 lb ft). Rephrase the connection points after assigning stakes then use a 0.25 mm gage to check the stakes before replacing the power steering gear boot on the shock dampener then reattach the power steering gear to the vehicle.
