The procedure to replace a Camshaft begins with Radiator removal followed by A/C Condenser removal and then lifting of lifters before continuing. You must remove the Timing Chain along with the Camshaft sprocket then extract the balance shaft drive gear. Safely separate the Camshaft retainer bolts from the retainer by hand while being mindful that all Camshaft journals have the same diameter. Use three 5/16-18 x 4.0 inch bolts to screw into the front bolt holes then utilize these bolts as a tool to gently rotate and extract the Camshaft. Check the Camshaft for debris while inspecting both the bearings and Camshaft. Changing the engine Oil Filter with engine oil supplement becomes necessary during new Camshaft installation. A thin layer of lubricant should be added to the Camshaft lobes and bearing journals along with the bearings. Install the engine Camshaft with its original three mounting bolts while minimizing contact between the bolts and bearings. Before putting the retainer in place use threadlocker on retainer bolts to prevent their leakage then follow the tightness requirement of 12 n.m (106 lb in).
