• Q: How to replace the underhood fuse box on 2008 Chevrolet Uplander?

  A: Opening the hood while supporting it is step one for underhood electrical center or junction block replacement followed by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable. First remove the cover from the accessory wiring junction block assembly base. Then unfasten the positive Battery Cable nut to disconnect the cable from its positive terminal stud. The base side of the electrical center contains 2 locking tabs that need release to start the removal process of the underhood accessory wiring junction block assembly. When unlocked the assembly can be carefully lifted from the 3 main body harness connectors to expose the lower connectors. Mount the new underhood accessory wiring junction block assembly after installing all 3 lower harness connectors into their designated base through the use of a hook-type tool. The hook tool enables attachment of connectors to the base by pulling upward. The hooks for each of the three connectors should rest in their designated slots after applying slight downward pressure to check that locking tabs remain secured. Insert the new underhood accessory wiring junction block assembly onto its base and bring the locator pins into proper alignment before using force to lock it into position. Check the two external locking valleys to ensure proper attachment of the assembly to the lower base. Secure the positive Battery Cable with its retaining nut by torquing it to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Install the underhood electrical center cover onto the electrical center base followed by reconnecting the negative Battery Cable and hood closure while performing the power sliding door re-initialization steps.
