How to Replace an A/C Hose in the HVAC System for Discharge Hose on 2008 GMC Acadia?

The first step toward replacement of the discharge hose requires the recovery of refrigerant. The first step includes removing the front facia and cutting the electrical connector of the a/c pressure switch. Start by removing the discharge line bolt that fixes the A/C Compressor to the compressor. After that disconnect the discharge line from the A/C Compressor. Remove both discharge line to condenser bolts and disconnect the discharge line from the condenser unit before removing the discharge line itself. The next step requires removal of the a/c pressure switch followed by disposal of the discharge line o-rings. Start by installing new o-rings to the discharge line before installing the a/c pressure switch. Attenion should be paid to attaching the discharge line to the condenser and securing the discharge line to condenser bolt with a torque of 9 n.m (80 lb in). Marry the discharge line with the A/C Compressor then tighten the discharge line bolt to 9 n.m (80 lb in). After reinstalling the front facia a complete evacuation with new charging of the refrigerant will occur before conducting a halogen leak detection on the component's fittings using j 39400-a.
