The Transmission Speed Sensor replacement for an Allison Automatic Transmission must commence with a turned-off engine and followed by external wiring harness separation from the speed sensor. Syndicate the key bolt to release the speed sensor then extract the speed sensor with care. Avoid rotating the new speed sensor in its retaining bracket because it may cause improper functioning. Start by installing a fresh O-ring onto the speed sensor then apply clean transmission fluid to it. To position the new speed sensor correctly insert it into the bore so that the retention bracket hole lines up with the speed sensor boss bolt hole. Screw in and tighten the speed sensor bolt at 12 N.m using an 108 lb in torque recommendation. After finishing the repair process hook up the external wiring harness to the speed sensor.
