How to replace the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) on the 4L60-E/4L65-E/4L70-E automatic transmission on 2009 GMC Sierra 1500?

Raise and support your vehicle before you start replacing the Vehicle Speed Sensor on the 4L60-E/4L65-E/4L70-E automatic transmission. Disconnect the VSS electrical connector first then unscrew the VSS bolt and remove both VSS parts along with the O-ring seal. Before installing the VSS place the O-ring seal onto it and apply a small amount of transmission fluid to the seal. Fasten the VSS bolt by turning it to 11 Nm (97 lb in). Reconnect the VSS power connection and put the vehicle back to its normal position followed by filling the transmission fluid if needed.
