• Q: How to Replace the Intake Manifold on a 3.6 L Engine (DI) on 2009 Cadillac CTS?

  A: To replace the Intake Manifold (3.6 L), remove the fuel pipe shield, and remove the air outlet duct. Remove the Brake Booster Vacuum Hose , the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose , and the purge line from the Intake Manifold. Purge solenoid bolt and place purge solenoid in an other place, after that you will remove throttle body electrical connector. Second, remove the Intake Manifold bracket bolt and unclip the engine wire use from the Intake Manifold. Remove the Intake Manifold bolts and remove the Intake Manifold with the gasket. If mounting a new Intake Manifold, do so. Replace the new Intake Manifold Gasket, then drop in the Intake Manifold and torque the Intake Manifold bolts in a circular pattern beginning in the center to 23 nm (17 lb ft). Clip back the engine wiring harness to the Intake Manifold, install Intake Manifold bracket bolt and tighten 23 nm (17 lb ft). Reconnect the throttle body electrical connection, install the purge solenoid bolt, and reconnect the purge line, the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose, and the Brake Booster Vacuum Hose. Lastly, return the air outlet duct and the fuel pipe shield.
