• Q: How to replace the lower intake manifold (SFI) (3.6 L) on 2009 Cadillac CTS?

  A: You must begin the lower Intake Manifold (SFI) (3.6 L) replacement process by disabling ignition then taking off the fuel injector sight shield. After disconnecting the air outlet duct take note of the booster hose path while separating the Brake Booster check valve from its hose. Start by moving the Brake Booster hose toward the Intake Manifold and continuing with connector removal of the purge solenoid valve and purge solenoid valve and fuel injector harness and Throttle Body electric components. Move the wiring harness retainer along with the upper Intake Manifold brace stud and bolt before repositioning the brace with the wiring harness in place. Start by uncontrolling the following components: positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose from the right bank camshaft cover and barometric pressure sensor electrical connector and Intake Manifold runner control solenoid electrical connector. Detach the left bank ignition coil wiring harness from its bracket yet maintain upper to lower Intake Manifold bolts and the fuel pipe safety. You need to first take out the Intake Manifold bolts then move the Intake Manifold to reach the fuel pipe connector. Disconnect the fuel pipe from the Fuel Rail by removing its fuel feed pipe retainer. Clean the Intake Manifold together with its sealing surfaces before assembly of the Intake Manifold while replacing the lower Intake Manifold gasket only if it shows signs of wear. Connect the fuel pipe retainer while also routing the purge solenoid electrical wires and then installing the Brake Booster hose and check valve to the Brake Booster. Complete the install process by adding the air outlet duct and the fuel injector sight shield.
