How to replace the lower control arm ball joint on cast iron lower control arms on 2009 Cadillac Escalade?

You need to lift and stabilize the vehicle before removing the tire and wheel assembly to change the Ball Joint in lower control arms made of cast iron. You must lift and support the vehicle before taking out the lower Control Arm. Fix the Control Arm in a holding device while you use a cutting tool to take off the holding wires from the Ball Joint housing. Place the Ball Joint in the press to take it out from the lower Control Arm. Place the outer flange of the new Ball Joint against the joint before installing it into position. Secure the lower Control Arm in a vise to install the new joint - refer to the removed Ball Joint for alignment. Press the Ball Joint crimps onto the joint body before putting back the lower Control Arm into the vehicle. Put back the wheel and tire then take off the safety stand while lowering the vehicle. Last check the wheel alignment to make sure it matches the required settings.
