  A: Primary step before replacing the secondary fuel tank module is to remove the fuel tank for access. First disconnect the electrical connector from the secondary fuel tank module then set it carefully aside without touching the lock ring. The J 45722 combination with a long breaker-bar helps counterclockwise turning of the fuel tank module lock ring until it can be removed. Open the secondary fuel tank module partially to reach the fuel transfer hose quick connect fitting and disconnect it. Pull out the secondary fuel tank module from the fuel tank then toss away the fuel tank module seal. The lock ring should be checked for damage because anything more than 0.41 mm (0.016 in) warp requires a replacement. Before installing the new fuel tank module seal you must grasp the fuel transfer hose from inside the fuel tank and partially put in the secondary fuel tank module. At the port of the fuel tank module attach the fuel transfer hose quick connect fitting and gently lower the module against the lock ring making sure it faces the correct direction. Use the breaker-bar on J 45722 after positioning the lock ring on the fuel tank to turn it clockwise until complete installation. Finish the installation by connecting the electrical connector to the secondary fuel tank module then secure it with the interlock before putting back the fuel tank.
