• Q: How to replace the Rocker Shaft Spring Kit and Valve Stem Oil Seal on the right side on 2009 Cadillac STS?

  A: First take out the Starter motor to reach the right side valve parts. When the en 46106 tool is absent the Crankshaft may spin which forces users to take apart and rebuild the whole Camshaft timing system. The en 46106 flywheel holding tool must be installed to block the Crankshaft movement. Use the Spark Plug extraction tool on the cylinder you select and attach the j 39313 plug adapter there. Link it to an air compressor. Position the en 46110 above the cylinder and turn its valve spring compressor nut tightly. Install the valve spring compressor device on top of the cylinder. Then remove valve keepers, loosen the screw to release valve springs, take out valve springs and detents. To extract the valve stem seal you should use the en 46116 (Valve Stem Seal Remover/Installer). Insert new valve stem seals with this tool (EN 46116) and assemble the valve spring and retainer. Replace the en 46110 above the valve springs and fasten its compressor nut then add the valve spring keepers. Disconnect the j 39313 air pipe from the air source and remove both components. To complete the job replace the spark plugs put back the rocker arms and camshafts before removing the en 46106 and adding the Starter motor in place.
