To access the right valve stem oil seal and valve spring for service work start by uninstalling the right camshafts and removing the Starter motor. Attach the en 46326 flywheel holder while preparing the Spark Plug area by cleaning the recess. Insert the j 39313 into the Spark Plug hole while keeping the valve closed by maintaining constant air pressure. Place the base plate of j 44211 into position over the Spark Plug hole. Put the j 44211 arm and swivel nut above the valve stud of the vehicle body before you tighten the swivel nut just enough to grab the valve locks. Specialize a magnet to take the valve stem locks off next loosen the swivel nut to pivot the arm away from the valve and disassemble the spring retainer and valve spring. Keep removing the valve stem seal for replacements only; use the j 38820 to hold and turn the old seal out. Load clean engine oil into the new valve stem seal before fitting it with a j 38820 tool. Lock the valve springs into place with the help of a magnet after setting the valve spring retainer and valve spring back in position while keeping the j 44211 swivel nut tightened. Lift air pressure from j 44211 head assembly and take off its swivel nut and arm before dismounting j 39313 and j 44211 base plate. Completing the process means installing the new Spark Plug first then repeating these steps for all other cylinders before reattaching right camshafts and taking out the en 46326 flywheel holder to place the Starter motor.

Start the valve spring left repair by taking out the left camshafts then lift the vehicle for proper access. Detach first the engine Oil Pan brace and then the transaxle case torque converter cover. Install the flywheel holder (J 44214) first then lower the vehicle to work space. Before handling the Spark Plug clean its port area to avoid getting it dirty during valve spring left side maintenance. Position the valve spring compressor base plate (J 44211) above the Spark Plug hole and put in the Spark Plug port adapter (J 39313) component. Keep pressure on the valve continuously by blowing air into the system. Insert the arm and swivel nut of the valve spring compressor (J 44211) over the respective valve stud. Tighten the swivel nut mindest to reach the valve locks which you can extract with a magnet. Turn the swivel nut counterclockwise and slide the arm toward you to release the vale spring retainer and spring from the location. When needed the valve stem seal remover and installer (J 38820) helps you grip and take out the old valve stem seal. Apply clean engine oil to both the valve stem and new seal's inner diameter before installing the new valve stem seal through the valve stem seal remover and installer (J 38820) using a twisting movement. Insert the arm back over the valve spring components and tighten the swivel nut of the valve spring compressor tool (J 44211) to let the valve locks into position while using the on-vehicle valve retainer remover/installer tool (J 43059). Reposition the arm and swivel nut of valve spring compressor j 44211 for each valve you need to service. Service all valves and take off air pressure before uninstalling the Spark Plug port adapter and base plate of the valve spring compressor. After fixing both left camshafts you need to lift the vehicle back up. Replace the flywheel holder j 44214 part before adding torque converter cover. Last step includes bolt attachment between Oil Pan and transaxle brace tightened at 50nm (37ft lbs.) followed by movement to ground position.

First uninstall the right camshafts and lift the vehicle to reach the valve guide seal. First take out the compartment between the engine oil tank and the transaxle case then remove the torque converter cover. Place the flywheel holder item number j 44214 into position then position the vehicle down. Before taking out the Spark Plug you must clean the space around it on the service cylinder. Place the base plate of the on-vehicle valve spring compressor (J 44211) over the Spark Plug hole before inserting the Spark Plug port adapter (J 39313) and maintaining continuous air pressure on the valve through the adapter. Fit the j 44211 on-vehicle valve spring compressor arm onto the valve stud and adjust the swivel nut to set up space for removing valve locks with a magnet. Shift the swivel nut to free up the arm which enables removing the valve spring retainer and spring. Hold the valve stem with the valve stem seal remover and installer (J 38820) to take out the old seal and discard it. Oil the valve stem and seal cylinder before installing the new valve stem seal through the valve stem seal remover and installer (J 38820). Be sure to place valve locks properly with the valve retainer remover/installer (J 43059) when you put back the valve spring retainer and spring while tightening the on-vehicle valve spring compressor (J 44211) swivel nut just enough for this step. Unwind the on-vehicle valve spring compressor (J 44211) swivel nut and arm. Release air pressure from the tool then take off the Spark Plug port adapter (J 39313) from the Spark Plug hole. Install the Spark Plug after taking off the base plate of the on-vehicle valve spring compressor (J 44211). Perform these steps again for all other cylinders receiving maintenance. Then place back the proper camshafts and follow this process by raising the vehicle, taking off flywheel holder (J 44214), adding torque converter cover and connecting Oil Pan to transaxle brace after tightening bolts to 50 n.m (37 lb ft) prior to lowering the vehicle down.

For right valve spring maintenance get j 38820 valve stem seal tool, j 39313 Spark Plug port adapter, j 43059 valve retainer tool, j 44211 on-vehicle valve spring compressor, and j 44214 flywheel holder. Raise the vehicle and take out the right camshafts to begin work. Beginning with the removal of both parts connecting the transaxle case and engine Oil Pan then proceeding to take off the torque converter cover. Place the j 44214 tool and let the vehicle descend to the lowest position. Before sparking plug removal clean the recess area to stop foreign material entry. Install the base plate of j 44211 over the Spark Plug opening before removing the Spark Plug from the service cylinder. Set the j 39313 valve into the Spark Plug hole and use steady breath pressure to block the valve opening. Install the arm and swivel nut of the j 44211 assembly onto its valve stud and tighten the swivel nut enough to reach the valve locks. Use a magnet to take off the valve locks from their position then loosen the swivel nut and swing the arm backward to unfasten the valve spring retainer and spring. To extract the old valve stem seal you can use the j 38820 tool set if needed. Put clean engine oil on the valve stem and inside the new seal before pressing in the seal using j 38820 . Insert the valve spring and spring retainer into their respective spaces. Move the j 44211 arm over both parts and apply just enough torque to the swivel nut for fitting the valve locks. Position the valve locks onto both sides of the j 43059 before dismounting the swivel nut and arm from the j 44211. Service each valve using the same approach by releasing air pressure then taking out the j 39313 tool from the Spark Plug hole. Put the Spark Plug in its position after you remove the base plate of the j 44211 . Put this method through the rest of the cylinders before putting back the right Camshaft set. Rise the vehicle up and replace the j 44214 piece before securing the torque converter cover in place. Let the vehicle down before securing the Oil Pan to its transaxle brace by tightening bolt threads to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.).

Before fixing the left Valve Stem Oil Seal and valve spring you need to remove the left Camshaft then raise and support the vehicle. To start work you must detach both parts of the engine Oil Pan to the transaxle case system then remove the torque converter cover. Position the flywheel holder (J44214) first and then lower the vehicle for work. Clean the Spark Plug hole space thoroughly before you take out the Spark Plug for the repair cylinder. Set the valve spring compressor base plate over the Spark Plug hole while inserting the Spark Plug port adapter and keeping the valve closed with constant air pressure. Put on the valve spring compressor arm and swivel nut onto the stud of the valve to be worked on while tightening the swivel nut just enough to reach the valve locks. With a magnet tool remove the valve locks before you release the swivel nut to swing away the arm and extract the valve spring parts. To replace the valve stem seal you should use j38820 device to safely take off the old seal. Spread clean engine oil onto the valve stem and insert the new valve stem seal through the valve stem seal remover and installer tool (J38820). After installing the valve spring retainers and valve springs normalize the compressor arm by tightening its swivel nut just enough for valve lock placement. Use the on-vehicle valve retainer remover/installer (J43059) to position valve locks then get rid of the swivel nut and arm of the valve spring compressor (J44211). Run through this procedure for all valves you need to service before releasing the air pressure and taking off the Spark Plug port adapter (J39313) from each Spark Plug hole. Place the Spark Plug in the slot of the valve spring compressor base plate before redoing this process on other cylinders. Start by reinstalling left camshafts and continue with supportive steps including the replacement of the flywheel holder and returning torques to specified values on all bolts.

To perform valve guide seal services you will need en 46106 flywheel holding tool and all valve-related tools. These include en 46110 on vehicle valve compressor, en 46116 stem seal tool, en 46117 stem key installer/remover, and j 39313 Spark Plug adapter. Use en 46106 first to stop crankshaft rotation when you remove the Starter motor because omitting this step can force you to dismantle Camshaft timing components. First take off both camshafts and rocker arms before extracting the Spark Plug from the specific cylinder. Fit the j 39313 onto the cylinder and join it to power from a compressor. Fit the en 46110 tool above the cylinder and then tighten its valve spring compressor bolt. Use the en 46117 tool to extract valve keepers as you rotate the valve spring compressor nut on the en 46110. Then disconnect and take off the valve spring retainer plus springs. Apply the en 46116 to uninstall the valve stem seal before replacing it with new valve stem seals using this same tool. Set the hardware in place by adding the springs and retainer first then placing the tapered end of the valve keepers towards the seal. When the spring compression allows place both keepers on the valve and take off the en 46110. Take out and remove the j 39313 part before placing the spark plugs in. Reinsert both camshafts and rocker arms while taking out the en 46106 tool and placing the Starter unit.

Gather the required tools j 38820, j 39313, j 43059, j 44211, j 44214, and j 38820 to replace the oil seal and valve spring on the right side. Raise your vehicle after removing both right camshafts to reach the parts. Unfasten both components between the engine Oil Pan and transaxle case before taking off the torque converter cover. Put the j 44214 in place before lowering the vehicle to ground position. For safety clear the area around the Spark Plug port before you take out the Spark Plug from that working cylinder. Fit the base plate of j 44211 on top of the Spark Plug hole and insert j 39313 while keeping the valve closed through steady compressed air. Insert the arm and swivel nut of j 44211 onto its matching valve stud until you can reach the valve locks with ease. Use a magnet to pull off valve locks from their position. Then turn the swivel nut loose to allow the arm to move outward so you can take out the valve spring retainer and spring. Irrigating the j 38820 seizes and takes out the old valve stem seal while you discard it. Apply clean engine oil to both elements before inserting the new valve stem seal through the j 38820 tool. Position valve locks into their places using the j 43059 tool while the swivel nut of j 44211 remains loose for valve lock access. Set down the j 44211 swivel tools after taking out its swivel nut and arm so you can perform the same steps on other valve replacements. Lower the engine air pressure and take out both j 39313 and j 44211 parts including base plate. Reinstall the Spark Plug. When done with all cylinders apply new right camshafts and lift the vehicle to proceed with the j 44214 removal. After placing the torque converter cover return the Oil Pan to its bracket position and fasten all bolts to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). Lower the vehicle back to the ground.

You have to uninstall the Starter first to reach the left side valve components. Mistakes often occur because the en 46106 (Flywheel Holding Tool) is not used. The Crankshaft may move which forces complete disassembly of the Camshaft timing machinery. Put the en 46106 in position to stop Crankshaft movement before taking off camshafts and rocker arms. Plug the appropriate cylinder and fasten the j 39313 Spark Plug port adapter to access compressed air. Place the en 46110 (On-Vehicle Valve Spring Compressor) onto the cylinder top. When using the en 46110 setup handle valve springs carefully because they are hazardous to dismantle if pressed within 24.0 mm (0.943 in). Tighten the valve spring compressor nut with en 46110 and install the en 46117 tool to remove valve keepers. Unfasten the en 46110 valve spring compressor nut and take out the valve spring retainer combined with valve spring. To remove the valve stem seal utilize tool en 46116. You need to use tool en 46116 to put in a new valve stem seal then add both valve spring and retainer. Cease holding the valve spring nut with en 46110 before installing new valve keepers at the proper angle on their tapered ends. After loading the spring hold the valve keepers inside. Later detach the en 46110 system and disconnect the j 39313 air supply. Place the spark plugs then rocker arms and camshafts on the engine while taking out the en 46106.

The first step when replacing the valve stem oil seal and valve spring of the left side involves removing the Starter motor. The Camshaft timing system must be completely disassembled and rebuilt when the Crankshaft starts rotating because the en 46106 flywheel holding tool is missing. Insert the en 46106 holding tool to stop Crankshaft rotation before starting the replacement steps. Take out the camshafts and rocker arms. Connect the j 39313 Spark Plug port adapter to the required cylinder then link it to compressed air through that port adapter. Position and securely fasten the en 46110 tool above the target cylinder and adjust its nut. Loosen the valve keepers while turning the valve nut. You can then take off the valve spring retainer and spring from their positions. You can use en 46116 to both extract and place valve stem seals. First install the valve stem seal using the en 46116 tool then put on the valve spring and retainer. Place the en 46110 above the valve spring and fix its nut tight while adding the valve spring keepers. Unplug the en 46110 and separate the j 39313 from compressed air after removing it. After installing the spark plugs, put back all rocker arms and camshafts then pull out the en 46106 before fitting the Starter motor.

You must remove the left camshafts and Starter motor as well as the valve stem oil seal and valve spring on the left side. Fix the Flywheel with the en 46326 holder. Before replacing the Spark Plug clean the area surrounding its chamber to avoid introducing dirt inside it and take out the current Spark Plug from that cylinder. After inserting the j 39313 into the Spark Plug hole, set the j 44211 base plate on top with a constant air supply maintaining valve closure. Set the swivel nut to expose the valve locks of the j 44211. Use a magnet after tightening to pull and remove the locks. Turn the swivel nut until you can move the arm backward to take out the valve spring retainer and valve spring. To extract the outdated valve stem seal staff the j 38820 tool. Apply clean engine oil to both ends of valve stem and seal before installing them into the base with the j 38820 device by rotating. After putting back the valve parts slide the j 44211 swivel nut tight until you can reach the valve locks through its socket. Position the valve locks with a magnetic device. Uninstall the j 44211 elements while reducing air pressure and taking out the j 39313 piece from the Spark Plug port. Put back the j 44211 base plate followed by the Spark Plug left camshafts and the Starter motor.

The Valve Spring Compressor (J 5892-D) and the Valve Spring Compressor Adapter (EN-47823).

Install the J 23590 (Spark Plug Port Adapter) into the spark plug port.

Use hand pressure to install the new valve stem oil seal, ensuring it is fully seated on the valve guide.

Remove the rocker arm.

Begin by removing the right camshafts and raising the vehicle for support.

Remove the brace between the engine oil pan and the transaxle case, followed by the torque converter cover.

Lubricate the valve stem and the inner diameter of the new seal with clean engine oil.

Remove the brace between the engine oil pan and the transaxle case, followed by the torque converter cover.

Use the J 38820 to grip and twist off the old seal.

Remove the brace between the engine oil pan and the transaxle case, followed by the torque converter cover.

Relieve the air pressure and remove the Spark Plug Port Adapter (J 39313) from the spark plug hole.

Install the new valve stem seal using the Valve Stem Seal Remover and Installer (J33820).

Use the EN 46116 to place the new valve stem seals, followed by the valve spring and retainer.

Tighten the swivel nut just enough to access the valve locks.

Tighten the swivel nut just enough to access the valve locks, and remove the locks using a magnet.

If the EN 46106 is not installed, the crankshaft may rotate, necessitating disassembly and reassembly of the entire camshaft timing system.

Reinstall the EN 46110 above the valve spring and tighten its compressor nut before adding the valve spring keepers.

The required tools are EN 46106 Flywheel Holding Tool, EN 46110 On-Vehicle Valve Spring Compressor, EN 46116 Valve Stem Seal Remover/Installer, EN 46117 Valve Stem Key Remover/Installer, and J 39313 Spark Plug Port Adapter.

Use hand pressure to install the new valve stem oil seal, ensuring it is fully seated on the valve guide, then place the oil seal over the stem until it contacts the valve guide, and use the Valve Stem Seal Installer (J42863) to install the seal.
