• Q: How to replace the Rocker Shaft Spring Kit and Valve Stem Oil Seal on the right side on 2010 Cadillac STS?

  A: Begin the job by taking out the Starter motor to access the right side valve parts. Without the en 46106 (Flywheel Holding Tool) installed the Crankshaft can turn requiring full disassembly of the Camshaft timing system. Before you begin install the en 46106 to stop Crankshaft rotation and take off camshafts plus rocker arms. Position the j 39313 Spark Plug port adapter into the specified cylinder and connect it to a compressed air supply. Place the en 46110 tool over the cylinder and firm down its valve spring compressor nut. First loosen the valve spring compressor nut before taking out the valve spring retainer and valve springs plus their keepers. Take the en 46116 valve stem seal tool to extract the valve stem seal. Insert the valve stem seals into the engine first with en 46116 before applying the valve spring and spring retainer. Once the valve spring is placed above the component put on the compressor nut of the tool to secure it then attach the valve keepers. Unplug the en 46110 then detach the j 39313 from air supply and take j 39313 out. Put back the spark plugs as well as the rocker arms and camshafts before removing en 46106 to place the Starter motor.
