- Q: How to replace the starter motor (LLT) (3.6L) on 2009 Cadillac STS?A: To replace the Starter motor (LLT) (3.6L), you should first turn the ignition off and remove the battery negative cable. Then, extract the left Catalytic Converter. Take off the Starter terminal nut and Starter solenoid of the Starter and also remove the battery positive cable from the Starter. Disconnect the Starter solenoid electrical connector from the Starter. Once again, the Starter motor bolts are to be removed and the Starter motor is to be taken out. For installation, place the Starter motor and mount it using the mounting bolts up to 50 nm (37 lb ft). Reconnect the positive Battery Cable to the Starter and install the Starter terminal nut and tighten it with 13 nm (115 lb in). Lastly, you would connect the electrical connector to the Starter solenoid and replace the left Catalytic Converter.
