When performing negative Battery Cable replacement always use new cables with identical specification to the originals and route the cables precisely like the originals. The first step involves disconnecting the cable which supplies negative power to the battery. Begin by removing the cable retaining clip from the shock tower stud while disconnecting the i/p harness electrical connector from the battery current sensor . Start by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable from the shock tower bolt then lift up the vehicle and detach the negative Battery Cable bolt from the engine block before lowering it down to remove the cable. Position the negative Battery Cable and install the bolt to secure it on the engine block while tightening to 50 nm (37 lb ft). Affix the cable retaining clip onto the shock tower stud while you fasten the negative Battery Cable bolt to the shock tower with 10 nm torque (89 lb in). Conclude the installation by connecting the i/p harness electrical connector to the battery current sensor followed by reinstallation of the negative Battery Cable.
