How to replace the negative battery cable on Cadillac STS?

Start by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable and removing both the left sight shield from the engine compartment and the engine sight shield. Start by disconnecting the instrument panel (I/P) harness electrical connector from the battery current sensor and by removing the cable retaining clip from the shock tower stud. You need to remove two rpm: disconnect the negative Battery Cable bolt on the shock tower and separate the instrument panel harness from the negative Battery Cable and remove engine bracket cable retaining clips. Unfasten the bolt holding the negative Battery Cable to the engine block before removing the cable from the location. When positioning the negative Battery Cable on the engine install the engine block bolt and tighten it to a torque of 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Secure the cable retaining clips at two points between the engine bracket and the instrument panel harness connector at the negative Battery Cable. Install the bolt holding the negative cable to the shock tower while using a torque wrench that reaches 10 n.m (89 lb in) then fix the retaining clip to the shock tower stud and interface the i/p harness electrical connector to the battery current sensor. Finish installation by adding the engine sight shield and left side engine compartment sight shield and replugging the negative Battery Cable into the battery.
