2009 Chevrolet Aveo Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the engine oil cooler on 2009 Chevrolet Aveo?
A: Start the Engine Oil Cooler replacement by draining both engine coolant and engine oil before proceeding. Begin by taking out the Exhaust Manifold and move on to the coolant pipe bolt removal from the engine coolant distributor case and engine front cover. Start by removing all Oil Cooler tightening bolts and then extract the heat exchanger together with its gasket. Inspect the gasket of the Oil Cooler for damage and leakage before mounting. Check for any damage on Oil Cooler gaskets before putting new ones in use. Set the heat exchanger gasket in place on the Oil Cooler housing before torquing its bolts to 8 nm (70.8 lb in). Locate the coolant pipes inside the Oil Cooler housing while adding the gasket before fastening Oil Cooler tightening bolts with 25 nm (18.4 lb ft) torque. After installing the engine front cover bolts to 8 nm (70.8 lb in), move on to secure the coolant pipe bolts to the engine coolant distributor case to 8 nm (70.8 lb in). Finally, reinstall the Exhaust Manifold.
