2009 Chevrolet Aveo Oil Pan Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the oil pan without variable camshaft phasing on 2009 Chevrolet Aveo?
A: You must disconnect the vehicle's negative Battery Cable as your first step toward replacing an Oil Pan without variable camshaft phasing. Next remove the right front wheel and right front splash shield. Start by draining engine oil from the crankcase and disconnections of the heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S). Start by removing both catalytic lower flange nuts from the Exhaust Manifold and bracket bolts and front pipe nuts in that order. Remove the combined Catalytic Converter and Exhaust Pipe unit before unbolting both pieces securing the Oil Pan to the transaxle housing and the single bolt joining the transaxle housing to the Oil Pan. After removing the grommet and Oil Pan retaining bolts users can extract both the Oil Pan from the engine block and the gasket. Install the gasket onto the Oil Pan while it remains within the 5-minute period after applying the liquid gasket application. Secure the Oil Pan to its engine block position by using 10 nm (89 lb in) torque when tightening the Oil Pan retaining bolts. Replace the used Oil Pan Drain Plug washer while installing a fresh washer and torque the Drain Plug to 55 nm (40 lb ft). Adjust the grommet then tighten the transaxle housing bolt to 25 nm (18 lb ft) and fix the Oil Pan bolts to the transaxle housing at 25 nm (18 lb ft). Install the catalytic converters and Exhaust Pipe together while tightening the Exhaust Manifold Catalytic Converter nuts to 50 nm (37 lb ft), the Exhaust Pipe bracket bolts to 50 nm (37 lb ft), and the front muffler nuts to 30 nm (22 lb ft). After connecting the ho2s you should reinstall the right front splash shield and wheel before reattaching the negative Battery Cable and refilling the engine crankcase oil.
