The first step to replace the engine Flywheel begins with removing either the transaxle when using automatic transmission or the clutch when using manual transmission. Position the j 38122-a (Crankshaft Balancer Holder) to secure the crankshaft balancer as you remove the chamfer from the 18 mm socket edge to achieve full engagement when securing thin-headed Flywheel bolts. You must discard both the automatic transaxle Flywheel bolts prior to removing the Flywheel which should be noted separately as balanced from the engine. A nylon bristle brush should be used to remove thread adhesive from Flywheel bolt holes. The manual transaxle Flywheel should be installed while new bolts achieve 53 nm (39 lb ft) torque accompanied by 25 degrees added angle measured with the j 45059 (Angle Meter). Install the automatic transaxle Flywheel with new bolts whenever this procedure applies. Complete the procedure by removing the j 38122-a tool then install the clutch or transaxle according to requirements.
