2009 Chevrolet Cobalt Clutch Master Cylinder Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Replace a Clutch Master Cylinder on 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt?
A: To replace the Clutch Master Cylinder (MU3), removal of the clutch pedal retainer (located at the front of Clutch Pedal Assembly) is necessary followed by pulling the switch on the clutch pedal upward to disengage the Pushrod from the pedal. Next, unbolt the ubec and put a shop towel under the Clutch Master Cylinder to contain any loss of fluid. Remove the Clutch Hose and clutch line from the Clutch Master Cylinder and cap the reservoir and hydraulic lines to preserve fluid and avoid contamination. Turn Clutch Master Cylinder one 1/4 turn clockwise and pull it out of your vehicle. For installation, align Pushrod with the clutch pedal, also install the Clutch Master Cylinder with 1/4 turn counterclockwise. Uncap the reservoir and hydraulic lines, attach the clutch line and Clutch Hose to the Clutch Master Cylinder, and put back the ubec. Connect the Pushrod to the clutch pedal, install the clutch pedal retainer, and perform the bleeding on the clutch hydraulic system.
