2009 Chevrolet Cobalt Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the fuel level sensor on 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt?
A: The first step requires you to uninstall the Fuel Pump module before beginning replacement of the Fuel Level Sensor. The pressure sensor must be turned clockwise while pressing in two specified locations until it produces an audible click before lifting it out of the bucket. One should disconnect the Fuel Level Sensor electrical connector from the module cover followed by removing the Fuel Level Sensor electrical connector wiring from the area encircling the fuel pipe. Push the Fuel Level Sensor retaining tabs until they disengage the sensor tabs from the module bucket and pull the sensor up before removing it from the module bucket. Insert the Fuel Level Sensor into the module bucket while directing it downward so retaining tabs properly engage. Place the Fuel Level Sensor electrical connector wiring around the fuel pipe before connecting its connector to the module cover. The pressure sensor requires placement into the bucket hole before using force to secure the sensor and finally installing the Fuel Pump module.
