2009 Chevrolet Equinox Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S 2) on 2009 Chevrolet Equinox?
A: Starting the replacement of heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S 2) requires that you lift the vehicle. Before disconnecting the ho2s 2 harness connection check for silicone products because these substances will cause ho2s contamination. The sensor removal process must start with liquid penetrant application. Extract the ho2s 2 from its Exhaust Pipe position. The new ho2s 2 requires application of a nickel-based anti-seize compound on the threads which should not include silicone content during installation. Place the ho2s 2 into position and torque it to a value of 42 nm (31 lb ft). To reconnect the ho2s 2 harness connector fully push it into place until a clicking noise is heard and test a positive connection through backward pulling. Mold in place the ho2s 2 harness pigtail connector so it remains safe and steady against the chassis.
