After surface cleaning proceed with installing both the Thermostat and the Thermostat Housing. Apply rtv sealing material gm p/n 12378478 (Equivalent Canadian P/N 88900041) to the bolt threads of the Thermostat Housing before bolting it on with 25 nm (18 lb-ft) torque. Install the Radiator Hose to its position on the Thermostat Housing before installing the crossover Exhaust Pipe.
