How to service and repair the front coil springs and shock absorber on 2009 Chevrolet HHR?

To do suspension strut servicing and repair, remove the strut from vehicle. Mount the strut to the j 45400, with the spring compressed for free motion. Turn the spring compressor forcing screw until coil spring is compressed, then loosen the screw and remove the upper strut mount and coil spring. Upon the steering arm, with a 45 torx(R) socket at the end of the strut shaft and strut rod socket and the similar hold the upper strut mount nut. Follow the same process on the coil spring and strut mount to the j45400 and install the coil spring and upper strut mount back into the j45400. After compressing the coil spring once more, using the spring compressor forcing screw, insert the strut to the coil spring and upper strut mount loosely put on the strut retaining nut. Use a 45 torx(R) socket to clamp the strut shaft; a strut rod socket or comparable for the upper strut mount nut, and tighten it to 75 nm (55Ib.ft). Lastly, take the strut away from the j 45400 and replace it back to the vehicle.
