How to replace the front shock absorber on 2009 Chevrolet HHR?

To replace the suspension strut, first, raise the vehicle at a height in which you can take off the tire and wheel assembly. Then, detach the stabilizer shaft link from the front suspension strut. Then, remove the front suspension strut mounting nut on the front suspension strut stud and lift the vehicle higher to get access to the lower front suspension strut bolts. Set the lower Control Arm on an adjustable jack stand and pry off the front suspension strut nut from the front suspension strut bolts. Unplug the connectors of the wheel speed sensor and then take off the wheel speed sensor bracket and leave it to one side. Go ahead and take out the front suspension strut bolts from the front suspension strut and then remove the front suspension strut from the vehicle. For installation, remove the front suspension strut from the vehicle and fix the front suspension front mounting nuts to the front suspension strut studs. Tighten the nuts to 20 nm (15 lb ft). Using the adjustable jack stand for lifting the lower Control Arm to fix the front suspension strut, then fix the front suspension strut bolts in front suspension strut. Reconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connectors and , install the front suspension strut nuts on the front suspension strut bolts , torque it to 120 nm (89 lb ft). Lastly, bolt the stabilizer shaft link to the front suspension strut, bolt on the tire, and the wheel assembly, and align the front end.
