How to replace the engine oil and oil filter on 2009 Chevrolet Malibu?

The vehicle lifting process should start by supporting the vehicle at a suitable height. Start by placing a drain pan under the oil Drain Plug and proceed to remove the Drain Plug while all oil drains out. Fasten the oil pan Drain Plug with a torque of 25 nm (18 lb ft) after which you should lower the vehicle. Use the 32 mm (1 1/4 in) socket or an Oil Filter wrench to detach the Oil Filter cap and filter while avoiding the use of open-end wrenches on the hex located on top of the Oil Filter cap. Mount the new Oil Filter onto the cap before reinstalling the Oil Filter cap together with its filter. Ensure you avoid tightness beyond necessary when tightening the Oil Filter cap because excessive torque can lead to damage which may create an oil leakage. Apply a 32 mm (1 1/4 in) socket or an Oil Filter wrench to tighten the Oil Filter cap until it achieves complete seating but not more than 25 nm (18 lb ft). The engine needs to receive the appropriate amount of oil.
