Vehicle elevation followed by support while a replacement of engine oil and Oil Filter takes place. Insert a drain pan under the oil Drain Plug before removing the oil pan Drain Plug. A 32 mm (1 1/4 inch) socket or an Oil Filter wrench should be used to remove the Oil Filter cap with filter by gripping the outside diameter of the cap rather than employing an open-end wrench on the hex above the cap. Mount the new filter into the Oil Filter cap followed by installation of the cap and filter onto the hex except avoiding use of an open-end wrench on the hex. When tightening the Oil Filter cap avoid exceeding 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) because excessive torque can result in damage which may produce an oil leak. The installation of the oil pan Drain Plug follows with a 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) torque requirement. To finish the maintenance process lower the vehicle then proceed with engine oil filling.

The procedure begins by raising the vehicle and placing it on supports before starting the oil and filter replacements. Place a drain pan under the engine's oil Drain Plug before you remove this plug to let all oil drain from the system. Screw and tighten the oil pan Drain Plug until it reaches 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs. Of torque). To remove the Oil Filter cap you should use a 32 mm (1 1/4 inch) socket or an Oil Filter wrench that fits the outside diameter or an Oil Filter wrench to ensure an open-end wrench does not touch the hex. To begin remove the Oil Filter cap but leave the filter on the cap before detaching the filter from its cap. Follow these steps for replacement: add the new Oil Filter onto the cap before installing the cap and filter together. Tighten the Oil Filter cap with care because excessive torque can destroy the cap and create an oil leak. A 32 mm (1 1/4 inch) socket or an Oil Filter wrench should be used to twist the cap until it's fully seated with no torque above 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). To finish the replacement your vehicle requires a drop in position followed by an oil addition.

The process of engine oil replacement starts with disconnecting the negative Battery Cable then raising the vehicle. The oil pan bolt and Oil Filter need removal from their locations. Intall the new Oil Filter and the oil pan drain bolt while tightening it to 26 nm (19 ft. Lbs.). You should lower the vehicle before adding engine oil until the mark reaches the correct level. Complete the procedure by reconnecting the negative Battery Cable followed by engine start-up and leak examination.

Install the oil pan drain bolt, tightening it to 26 Nm (19 ft. lbs.).

Install the new filter to the cap and then install the oil filter cap with the filter.

Remove the oil pan drain plug.

A 32 mm (1 1/4 inch) socket or an oil filter wrench.

An open end wrench.

Lower the vehicle and fill the engine with oil.

Use a J 44887.

Install the oil filter cap and filter, ensuring not to over-torque the oil filter cap to avoid damage that could lead to an oil leak.

Over-torquing the oil filter cap.

Remove the filter from the cap and install a new oil filter to the cap.

The oil pan drain plug.

Remove the oil pan drain plug and allow the oil to drain completely.

A 32 mm (1 1/4 in) socket or an oil filter wrench.

Allow the oil to drain completely.

Fill the engine with oil.
