How to replace the engine oil and oil filter on Chevrolet Classic?

You should support the vehicle with the proper tools while placing the drain pan under the oil Drain Plug to replace engine oil and filter. The hex shape on top of the Oil Filter cap should be opened with an Oil Filter wrench or a 32 mm (1 1/4 inch) socket instead of using an open end wrench to remove both the filter cap and the filter. Replace the engine Oil Filter to the cap followed by installing the Oil Filter cap with the filter while keeping the hex free from open end wrenches. When tightening the Oil Filter cap avoid excessive torque as it can create damage and lead to an oil leak. The correct torque setting is 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) until the cap is fully seated. After installation of the oil pan Drain Plug tighten it to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) then return the vehicle to the ground while filling the engine with oil.
