How to replace the harmonic balancer on Chevrolet Classic?

Starting the crankshaft balancer replacement requires removal of the engine Drive Belt. While removing the crankshaft balancer bolt you should use the Harmonic Balancer holder (J 38122-A) to stop crankshaft rotation. Drain the crankshaft balancer bolt before extracting it then proceed to remove the crankshaft balancer. You should first mount the new crankshaft balancer onto the crankshaft before screwing in a new crankshaft balancer bolt. To prevent the crankshaft rotation during tightening apply the Harmonic Balancer holder (J 38122-A) while torquing the crankshaft balancer bolt to 100 nm (74 ft. Lbs.) plus 125 degrees. Reposition the engine Drive Belt as the final step.
